Women's Cross Country Places 13th at Western New England Invitational

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Curry College women's cross country team placed 13th overall out of 22 teams on Saturday morning in the Western New England Invitational.

Salve Regina placed first with an overall score of 55 points. Curry placed 13th overall with a team score of 380 points.

Curry was led by sophomore Leigha Sweeney (Braintree, Mass.) who placed 67th with a time of 22:00.  Sweeney was followed by freshman Abigail Ceresi (North Kingstown, R.I.), 22:33 (81st), sophomore Megan Erickson (Westbrook, Conn.), 23:15 (96th), freshman Lydia Hixson (West Hartford, Conn.), 23:17 (97th), freshman Emily Purdee (Franklin, Mass.), 24:59 (138th), senior Molly Simon (Moraga, Calif.), 25:20 (144th) and sophomore Shannon Hickey (Salem, N.H.).

The Colonels next meet is on Saturday, November 2, in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship (TBA) at 12:00 p.m.
