Women's Soccer Claims #7 Seed in CCC Tournament

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Roger Williams University has earned the top seed for the 2015 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's soccer championship, which begins with quarterfinal matchups on campus sites Saturday afternoon.

Ranked fourth in the most recent NCAA Division III New England regional rankings, the Hawks (16-0-3 overall) earned the top seed in the conference tournament after compiling an 8-0-1 record in CCC play.  Roger Williams will host #8 seed Eastern Nazarene (5-8-3, 2-5-2) in a quarterfinal contest Saturday at 11:00 a.m.

Other quarterfinal matchups slated for Saturday include #2 seed Wentworth (15-2-1, 8-1-0), who was ranked 12th in the most recent NCAA Division III New England regional rankings, hosting #7 seed Curry (13-5-1, 3-5-1) at 12:00 p.m.  In addition, #3 seed University of New England (11-6-0, 6-3-0) will host #6 seed Gordon (5-8-3, 3-5-1) at 12:00 p.m., while #4 seed Endicott (8-7-2, 5-3-1), while will host #5 seed Salve Regina (9-8-1, 4-4-1) at 3:30 p.m.

CCC tiebreaking procedures were used to determine seeds for Gordon and Curry, both of which tied for sixth place with identical 3-5-1 record in conference play.  The Fighting Scots were awarded the sixth seed by virtue of a 1-0 victory over the Colonels on October 3.

Quarterfinal winners will advance to the semifinal round which will be played on Wednesday, November 4 at the sites of the each higher seed.  Kickoff times will be announced.

Semifinal winners will square off for the conference championship on Saturday, November 7 at the site of the higher seed at a time to be announced.
