MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College women's lacrosse team suffered a 13-7 loss to visiting Gordon College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play Saturday afternoon at Walter M. Katz Field. The win sends the Fighting Scots to 3-9 overall and 2-3 in the CCC while the Colonels fall to 7-6 overall and 2-3 in league action.

Freshman Brenna Otte (Grand Rapids, Mich.) and senior Olivia McCarrick (Glen Burnie, Md.) each finished with four goals and a game-high with eight draw controls while sophomore Katelyn Dyer (Plainfield, N.J.) tallied four points on three goals and one assist. Sophomore Greta Moore (Wheaton, Ill.) registered three points on one goal and two assists while sophomore Lena Larson (Fredricksburg, Va.) rounded out the scoring with one goal. Freshman Annabel Christenson (Scituate, Mass.) made eight saves in goal.

Sophomore Allie Wysocki (Agawam, Mass.) led Curry with three points on two goals and one assist. Junior Abby Dubel (Wolfeboro, N.H.) followed with two goals, seven draw controls, and eight ground balls. Freshman Andria Torres (Milford, Conn.), sophomore Taylor Gallagher (Rockland, Mass.), and junior Leona Stevens (Kingston, Mass.) each recorded one goal to close the column. Freshman goalie Jessica Ginaitt (Warwick, R.I.) and recorded seven stops.

The Fighting Scots outscored the Colonels 7-1 in the first half. Otte put Gordon on the board with 21:26 remaining off an assist from senior Hannah Bourk (Barrington, R.I.). The run continued just 28 seconds later on an unassisted goal from McCarrick. Dyer, McCarrick, and Otte accounted for the next three goals to make the score 5-0. McCarrick tallied another to register a hat trick with under five minutes to go in the opening stanza. Dyer scored the final goal of the half for Gordon to push the lead to 7-0. Dubel put the Colonels on the scoreboard with a goal with 3:12 remaining.  

Curry scored the first two goals of the second half to trim the deficit to four. Gallagher notched her lone goal of the contest and Wysocki netted one off a free position shot just 1:23 later.

Gordon never let the lead dip below six as a 3-0 run on goals by McCarrick, Otte, and Dyer over the next four minutes to keep her team comfortably in front. Torres snapped the spurt with an unassisted marker with 18:34 left in regulation. Each team finished with separate three-goal runs to close out the game. After a trio of goals by the Fighting Scots, Stevens, Wysocki, and Dubel registered the final three to end the game in a 13-7 final.

Gordon won 14 of 22 draw controls in the contest while Curry held vantage in ground balls, 31-19.

Curry will next travel to Emerson College on Monday, April 8 at 8:00 p.m. Gordon will begin a three-game homestand on Wednesday, April 10 against Western New England University at 4:00 p.m.
