Women's Lacrosse Shuts Out Visiting Bay Path 21-0 in Non-Conference Play

MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College women's lacrosse team defeated Bay Path, 21-0 on Monday afternoon at the Walter M. Katz Field.  With the win the Colonels improve to 8-4 overall.  The Wildcats fall to 0-6 on the season.

Senior Alexis Cran (Branford, Conn.) was solid in all statistical categories as she led the team in points with seven on three goals and four assists.  Cran also won 15 out of 23 draw controls, collected 11 groundballs and caused 10 turnovers.  Three juniors contributed with six points as Kelly Parker (Branford, Conn.) netted four goals and dished out two assists, Rachael Lawrence (Hanover, Mass.) had three tallies and three helpers and Lauren Carroll (Providence, R.I.) scored one while assisting on five.  Both Parker and Carroll also caused four turnovers. 

The Colonels had seven other scorers, five with multiple points.  Junior Abby Carnevale (Beverly, Mass.) had three points on one goal and two assists while freshman Jessica Giametti (Branford, Conn.) also enjoyed three points on two goals and an assist.  Senior Hanna Peper (Wayland, Mass.), junior Rachel Smith (Arlington, Mass.) and freshman Jennifer Crandall (Durham, Conn.) each had two points.  Peper netted a goal and dished out an assist and both Smith and Crandall tallied two scores.  Sophomore Bianca Simeone (Cranston, R.I.) and freshman Nicole Halloran (Pembroke, Mass.) each scored their first collegiate goal. 

The Colonels senior goalkeeper Annie Douglas (Manchester, N.H.) earned her first shutout in net making two saves.  Bay Path's freshman goalkeeper Milan Lytle (Washington, D.C.) recorded 17 stops in the loss.

Curry is next in action on Thursday night as they travel to Worcester State for a 7 p.m. start.
