Women's Lacrosse Knocked Off 14-8 by Emmanuel College

BRADENTON, Fla. – The Curry College Women's Lacrosse Team lost to Emmanuel College 14-8, on Sunday afternoon in Bradenton, Florida in the Sticks Up Lacrosse "19th Annual Spring Fling."  The Saints, earned their first win of the season while the Colonels fell to 0-2 on the young season.

This was the first-ever meeting between the Emmanuel and Curry women's lacrosse programs.  The Saints held a 7-3 lead after the first half and managed to outscore the Colonels, 7-5, in the second to take the 14-8 win.

Curry was led by sophomores Lauren Carroll (Providence, R.I.) who netted three goals and Kelly Parker (Branford, Conn.) who tallied a pair of goals and chipped in with an assist.  Sophomore Malorie Knowlton (Norfolk, Mass.) had two points on two goals and junior Alexis Cran (Branford, Conn.) had one score and one assist.  Knowlton led all players with six draw controls while also causing two turnovers.  Cran won five draws and led the team with three caused turnovers.

Senior goalie Christina Wallis (Peabody, Mass.) made nine saves in her 60 minutes of play in net.

Curry is back in action in Florida on Tuesday afternoon, March 10, when the Colonels take on Baldwin-Wallis in an 11:30 p.m.  start.
