Nine Curry Student-Athletes Volunteer at Team IMPACT Game Day Gala

MILTON, Mass. – On Thursday, April 2 in Boston, nine Curry College student-athletes volunteered at the Team IMPACT Game Day Gala. The Game Day Gala is Team IMPACT's annual fundraiser.

The nine Curry student-athletes were: Justin Nice (Hockey), James Murphy (Hockey), Kylie Beltz (Basketball), Jeanette Fallon (Basketball), Jordan Shairs (Football), Curtis Davila (Football), Christina Deiorio (Basketball), Morgan Stott (Soccer) and Kelsey O'Brien (Soccer).

Said Mary Welker, Massachusetts Regional Manager for Team IMPACT: "Not only were they instrumental in the success of our Gala but they were also wonderful representatives of your College. The student-athletes were engaging, respectful and willing to help out in any way they could. I cannot overstate how much it meant to us to have Curry College take the lead in the registration process and to commit to training and learning the entire process. Curry College student-athletes were the first people our guests met and they did a wonderful job in setting the tone for the evening!"

Welker went on to say: "Many of our guests at the Gala commented on how well the student-athletes represented not only Team IMPACT, themselves, and their teams - but their school as well. Many guests had the opportunity to meet and greet the student-athletes and learn about Team IMPACT from a first-hand perspective. These opportunities were key to the success of the event."

She concluded by adding: "Please know that everyone at Team IMPACT appreciates our partnership with Curry College, and all that you do every day, that assists us in providing this program for children and families. You have some amazing student-athletes at Curry and we just wanted to let you know we appreciate working with them!"

To date, Curry has partnered with Team IMPACT to "draft" six children onto five different team rosters:

Sean Bennett (Men's Ice Hockey)
Aidan Collins (Men's Ice Hockey)
Lauren Dunn (Softball)
Shane Heffernan (Football)
Gavin McCarthy (Baseball)
Rachel Wojcik (Women's Lacrosse)
