Women's Basketball Improves to 5-0 With 58-52 Win at Albertus Magnus
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Curry College Women's Basketball team held on for a 58-52 win at Albertus Magnus College after a late second-half run by the Falcons came up short.  Albertus trailed 50-39 with 4:48 remaining in the second half before a 10-3 run cut the lead to 53-49 with just over two minutes remaining. The Falcons would get no closer as their late second half rally fell short.

The Colonels led 32-24 at the half and used a 10-0 run out the gate in the second half to lead 42-24 with 17:03 remaining.

Curry was led by sophomore forward Hailey Rafferty (Worcester, MA/Holy Name) and her team high 15 points along with seven rebounds and four assists. Senior forward Cortney Robinson (Brockton, MA/Brockton) added 11 points, nine rebounds, six assists and four steals.

The Falcons received a game high 19 points from freshman guard Lianna Carrero (Hamden, CT/Hamden) on 6-11 shooting from the field. Sophomore guard Shanilya Bush (New Haven, CT/Wilbur Cross) and freshman guard Lindsay Karle (Wallingford, CT/Lyman Hall) chipped in 10 points and 11 points respectively.

Albertus drops to 2-2 on the season while Curry improves to 5-0. The Falcons return to action on Monday night when they host non-conference opponent Newbury College at 7:00 p.m. The Colonels resume play with a home contest against Coast Guard on December 2 at 7:00 p.m.
