WBB Season Ends With 61-40 Loss to Endicott
MILTON, Mass. – Endicott shot out to a 15-0 lead to start the game and never looked back, cruising past Curry, 61-40, in the regular-season finale for both squads Saturday afternoon in Milton. The Gulls improved to 18-6 overall and 11-2 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC).

Endicott’s game-opening run began when junior guard Ashley Wright (Merrimack, NH) sank a three-pointer at 19:48, and was  capped off with a three-pointer by sophomore guard Kate Kovach (Moon Township, PA) at 15:39. Freshman guard Carolyn Houston (Melrose, NY) gave the hosts their first points of the day with a layup at 15:11. Endicott’s biggest lead (34-16) of the half came after Wright hit a pair of free throws with just under three minutes remaining. Neither team scored over the final 2:54, giving the visitors an 18-point edge at the break.

In the second frame, the Gulls maintained a consistently large cushion, taking their biggest lead (46-24) at 12:12 on a layup by freshman guard Jen McBrien (Medfield, MA).

Wright led Endicott with a game-high 21 points. Junior center Ashley Vitale (Wilmington, MA) added 12 and senior guard Kaylin Burke (Leominster, MA) contributed 10. Senior center Ceciley Chisholm (Lexington, MA) led the Gulls on the board with 11 rebounds.

Junior guard Joneiha Veiga (Brockton, MA) was the only Colonel in double-figures with 18 points. Veiga also led Curry in rebounding with six.

Endicott will host a TCCC quarterfinal game on Tuesday February 23. Curry ends its season with a 9-16 overall record and a 4-9 mark in conference play.
