MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College Softball Team has announced its captains for the 2017 season. Senior infielder Marissa Bruno (Milford, Conn./Joseph A. Foran HS) and Senior outfielder Mikayla Korona (Bellingham, Mass./Bellingham HS) were chosen by their teammates and coaches to lead the 2017 Colonels during the upcoming season. This will be Bruno's second season as team captain.

Bruno had a solid junior year for the Colonels.  She was named to the CCC All Conference 2^nd Team and was chosen as the team's Most Valuable Player for the 2016 campaign.  She played in all 38 regular season games, batted .347, led the team with 6 homeruns and compiled a .929 fielding percentage. Bruno was named the CCC Rookie of the Year after her freshman campaign and was named a CCC 1^st Team All Star.

Korona had an unbelievable 2016 campaign roaming the Curry College outfield.  She was named to the CCC All Conference 2^nd Team and was chosen as the team's Most Improved Player for the 2016 season.   She led the team in batting average with a .386 mark, led the team in triples and had the highest fielding percentage of all the outfielders at .941%.
