Bruno and Korona Chosen as Softball Captains For The 2017 Campaign

MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College Softball Team has announced its captains for the 2017 season. Senior infielder Marissa Bruno (Milford, Conn./Joseph A. Foran HS) and Senior outfielder Mikayla Korona (Bellingham, Mass./Bellingham HS) were chosen by their teammates and coaches to lead the 2017 Colonels during the upcoming season. This will be Bruno's second season as team captain.

Bruno had a solid junior year for the Colonels.  She was named to the CCC All Conference 2nd Team and was chosen as the team's Most Valuable Player for the 2016 campaign.  She played in all 38 regular season games, batted .347, led the team with 6 homeruns and compiled a .929 fielding percentage. Bruno was named the CCC Rookie of the Year after her freshman campaign and was named a CCC 1st Team All Star.

Korona had an unbelievable 2016 campaign roaming the Curry College outfield.  She was named to the CCC All Conference 2nd Team and was chosen as the team's Most Improved Player for the 2016 season.   She led the team in batting average with a .386 mark, led the team in triples and had the highest fielding percentage of all the outfielders at .941%.
