Two Men’s Soccer Players Earn Weekly CCC Awards; Johnson Also Garners ECAC Recognition

MILTON, Mass. – Curry College junior midfielder Rolando Montero (Norwalk, Conn.) has been named as the Commonwealth Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week.  Montero snapped a 1-1 tie on a penalty kick in the 77th minute of the Colonels' 2-1 victory over Roger Williams, one of three CCC teams that advanced to the second round of the 2013 NCAA tournament.  Montero's goal helped Curry improve to 5-0 as the Colonels are just one of two CCC teams without a loss or a tie this season.

Curry College sophomore goalkeeper Dan Johnson (Easton, Conn.) has been named as the Commonwealth Coast Conference and ECAC Division III New England Defensive Player of the Week for the second week in a row.  Johnson continued his stellar play this season, chalking up 14 saves – including nine in the second half – in the Colonels' 2-1 victory over Roger Williams in the CCC opener.  Through five matches, Johnson has compiled a 0.60 GAA and 39 saves.
