MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College men's ice hockey team fell to visiting eighth-ranked University of New England, 4-1, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Friday night at the Max Ulin Rink. With the win, the Nor'easters improve to 4-1-0 overall on the season and 4-1-0 in the CCC while the loss drops the Colonels to 3-2-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the CCC.

UNE netted the first score of the contest just five seconds into the first period.  Senior Brady Fleurent (Biddeford, Maine) received a pass from Dylan Bengston (Coral Springs, Fla.) and Fleurent put a shot past Curry netminder Justin Ketola (Cloquet, Minn.) to give the Nor'easters the early lead. The visitors tacked on another goal, this time at the 8:27 mark of the frame. Tyler Seltenreich (Littleton, Colo.) netted a power-play goal off assists from Jeff Eppright (Barrington, N.J.) and Dimitris Jones (Seattle, Wash.) to give the University of New England a 2-0 lead after one frame.

UNE added to its lead in the second as Ryan Bloom (Northville, Mich.) found the back of the net on a shorthanded opportunity with the assists going to Fleurent and Bengston.

The squads then traded goals in the final period. Neil Maietta (South Portland, Maine) got in the scoring column at the 8:50 mark while the Colonels got on the board with a goal at the 14:41 mark of the frame with the marker going to Alexander Bouchard (Winnipeg, Ontario). The assist on the goal went to Jordan Williamson (Okotoks, AB). There would be no more scoring for the rest of the contest as the Nor'easters came out with the three-goal victory.

UNE outshot Curry, 37-18. The Colonels went 0-for-2 on the power play while the University of New England went 1-for-3.

Ketola recorded 33 saves in net despite the loss. Ben Churchfield (Newcastle, England) made 18 stops in net for the win.

The two teams will square off again tomorrow night at the University of New England for a 7:00 p.m. puck drop.
