MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College Men’s Ice Hockey Team helped provide an auction item last March for the Milton Foundation for Education (MFE). The MFE held a gala on March 10, 2012, and one of the auction items was the opportunity to “Skate with the Colonels.”

Mike and Marie Mignosa were the winners of the auction item, and on Monday, January 14, 2013, their eight year-old son Kevin and his Milton Youth Hockey friends and coaches skated with the Colonels at the Max Ulin Rink in Milton.

“It was a great night where our players were just like big kids having a blast,” said Curry College Head Coach TJ Manastersky. “I enjoyed meeting the parents and young Milton players and hope we can continue to build our relationship with Milton Youth Hockey.  I am also very pleased to support the Milton Foundation for Education and hope we can do this every year.”

The Mignosas had some very kind words to say about the “Skate with the Colonels” along with the coaching staff and team:

“The whole event was so nicely done. We greatly appreciate the time and efforts of the Curry hockey team and coaching staff. Curry College should be proud of their men’s hockey team, not just for their skill on the ice, but for their kindness and patience, and their generosity in sharing their time and talents with young hockey fans. Your hockey team gave our boys, and their parents, a priceless memory.”
