MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College Men's Basketball Team hosted Pine Manor College on Saturday afternoon on the second day of the Eastern Nazarene/Curry Thanksgiving Classic. The Colonels overcame a number of double-digit deficits, but succumbed to the Gators, 90-83. Pine Manor improved to 4-2 on the season while Curry remained winless at 0-6.

The game was tight throughout the first half, with the Gators taking a 40-35 advantage into the locker room. The visitors shot 38.5% (15-39) over the first 20 minutes, while holding the Colonels to 32.4% (11-34) shooting. Pine Manor connected on seven shots from beyond the arc in the opening frame.

Both teams shot better than 50% over the final 20 minutes, leading to a 98-point half that favored the Gators, 50-48. Curry struggled from three-point range, connecting on just five of 23 attempts (21.7%). Pine Manor was good from the field and from beyond the arc, but had a tough game from the charity stripe, hitting on just 15 of 27 free-throw attempts (55.6%).

Sophomore Chancie Williams (Hartford, Conn.) paced the Gators with team highs in points (23) and assists (6). Classmate Taverick Roberson (Pittsfield, Mass.) chipped in with 19 points, while freshman Ellis Reid (Hartford, Conn.) and sophomore Curtis Hyman (New Britain, Conn.) contributed 14 and 12 points, respectively. Reid also pulled down a team best 12 rebounds to record the double-double.

Junior captain Paul Preziosi (Quincy, Mass.) turned in another outstanding effort for the Colonels with game highs in points (28) and rebounds (14). Three Curry juniors – Trey Jones (Mattapan, Mass.), Stephen O'Neal (Roxbury, Mass.), and James Pina (Warwick, R.I.) - each chipped in with 15 points apiece. Freshman Luke Schreiner (Breezy Point, N.Y.) dished out a game high seven assists.

Pine Manor returns to action on December 1, hosting Emerson at 7:00 p.m. Curry resumes play on December 2, welcoming Eastern Nazarene for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
