Griffin Named to NEIBA and ABCA/Rawlings All-New England Third Team

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College freshman starting pitcher David Griffin (Hanover, Mass.) has been named to both the 2015 New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) Division III All-New England Third Team and the 2015 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-New England Third Team.

Griffin paced the Colonels in nearly every pitching category in his collegiate debut. He compiled a 7-1 record and a 1.59 ERA. In 62.1 innings, he allowed just 44 hits, 11 earned runs and 20 walks, while striking out 52. Griffin was the winning pitcher in Curry's 5-4 win over Roger Williams in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship Game on May 3. He came out of the bullpen and tossed 5.1 innings of one-hit, shutout ball, striking out four. On May 13, Griffin led seventh-seeded Curry to its first-ever NCAA Tournament win, tossing a complete-game, 4-0 shutout against second-seeded Wesleyan. Griffin earned numerous post-season accolades, including team Rookie of the Year, CCC Third Team All-Conference.
