Women’s Cross Country Places Seventh in CCC Championship

BRISTOL, R.I. – The Curry College women's cross country team scored 229 points and placed seventh in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship Meet, hosted by Roger Williams at Colt State Park. Of Curry's five runners, three registered paces within 35 seconds of their season-bests.

The top time for the Colonels came from Haley Covillion (Bellow Falls, Vt.), who finished in place 73 with a time of 28:42. Just one second behind her was teammate Susan Hogan (Weymouth, Mass.), who finished in 74th at 28:43. A pair of Colonels took spots 90 and 91, in Karina Murcia (Culver City, Calif.) and Kelsie Rainone (Plainville, Mass.), with times of 32:45 and 33:36, respectively. Ariana Boostrom (Rockland, Mass.) turned in a 94th place finish for the Colonels with a time of 35:41.

During the 6k, Rainone turned in an average 9:00 mile, just 34 seconds short of her season-best average. Hogan and Covillion also came close to their bests, averaging just 14 and 12 seconds over, respectively. Additionally, Hogan, Covillion, and Murcia each turned in their best total time in a 6k on the year, improving upon their times from the Travis J. Fuller Invitational on September 27.
