Gately Leads Cross Country in UMass Dartmouth Invitational

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Junior Reme DiGiovanni (Southborough, Mass) led the way for the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's cross country team, placing 20th overall this afternoon at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Invitational.

Brandeis University won the meet with a total of 49 points, followed by East Stroudsburg (79) and Connecticut College (80).  Curry finished 37th out of the 42 teams competing.

Curry was led by sophomore Victoria Gately (Hanson, Mass.) who placed 230th with a time of 22:54.  Gately was followed by senior Leigha Sweeney (Braintree, Mass.) who placed 236th with a time of 23:03.  Following Sweeney were junior Lydia Hixson (West Hartford, Conn.), 24:13 (267th), junior Meghan Macleod (Brewster, Mass.), 24:25 (269th), junior Emilee Purdy (Franklin, Mass.), 24:58 (269th), junior Rachel Smith (Arlington, Mass.), 25:23 (282nd) and freshman Sarah Volack (North Stonington, Conn.), 27:20 (296th).
