Cross Country Places 30th at ECAC Division III Championship

WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Williams College women's cross country team won the ECAC Division III Cross Country Championship Saturday afternoon at Stanley Park in Westfield, Massachusetts. The women beat out 48 squads to claim their first crown since 2008.  

The Ephs used four top-14 finishes to defeat runner-up, University of New England, by 12 points. Three other NESCAC schools rounded out the top five with Middlebury College taking third place with 85 points and Tufts College (109 points) and Trinity College (178 points) earning fourth and fifth place, respectively.

Curry finished in 30th place with 931 points.  The Colonels were led by freshman ElizaMarie Quinn-Alger (Harwinton, Conn.) who placed 146th with a time of 25:41.  Quinn-Alger was followed by sophomore Lydia Hixson (West Hartford, Conn.), 26:35 (182nd), junior Leigha Sweeney (Braintree, Mass.), 27:04 (201st), senior Jessica Leary (Pembroke, Mass.), 27:47 (238th), freshman Victoria Gatley (Hanson, Mass.), 27:49, (240th), freshman Hannah Wells (Whitman, Mass.), 28:00 (247th) and senior Victoria Norton (Fairfield, Conn.), 30:05 (304th).
