Women’s Cross Country Volunteers at the First Annual Abundant Table Road Race

MILTON, Mass. - On Saturday October 26, the Colonels' Women's Cross Country Team volunteered their time to support local runners at the "First Annual Abundant Table Road Race" in Norwood, Mass.

They were also there to support current Curry runner, freshman Emilee Purdy's father, Lincoln Purdy, who placed first in his age group. The team guided the field of approximately 125 runners and walkers at each mile, encouraging them along the way. The Cross Country squad was excited and exuberant as they cheered, armed with stop signs to control traffic and bright orange vests which designated their position as an official road race guide. The front runner was a woman who ran the 5k in 18 minutes.

Said Head Coach YaSheka Taylor: "This was such a positive experience that it will motivate us in our next competition to perform our best. We look forward to serving at next year's road race."
