
MILTON, Mass. - Curry College was defeated in three straight sets by Roger Williams Thursday night in a Commonwealth Coast Conference women's volleyball match at Dr. Eleanor Meyerhoff Katz Gymnasium.
With the loss, Curry falls to 4-20 on the season and 0-7 in conference play.
After dropping the first two sets, the Colonels put their best foot forward in set three, which included an 8-1 scoring run to establish a 14-10 lead over the Hawks. The run was highlighted with kills by Leah Oscar-Phoenix (Westwood, Mass.), Sonja Matheson (Voluntown, Conn.), and Lauren Guzman (Cranston, R.I.), as well as a pair of service aces by Morgan Kramer.
Kramer led the Colonels offensively with four kills, while Avia Fraine (Mattapoisett, Mass.) had a team-high seven digs. Abby Sousa (Seekonk, Mass.) led Curry with 10 assists.
Curry College returns to action on Saturday (10/28) to face off against Salem State in the final non-conference match of the season beginning at 12 p.m.
