BOSTON - Curry College was defeated in three sets (25-18, 25-14, 25-18) by Suffolk University in Commonwealth Coast Conference women's volleyball action at Larry E. Smith and Michael S. Smith Court.
The Colonels went on a notable run in set three that brought Curry within three points of the lead (16-13). The 7-1 scoring run featured a service ace by Sydney DeCarvalho (Hope, R.I.) and a kill by Sonja Matheson (Voluntown, Conn.).
Jess Sullivan (Meredith, N.H.) led the Colonels with eight kills while accumulating five digs. DeCarvalho and Lauren Guzman (Cranston, R.I.) finished with seven digs while Abby Sousa (Seekonk, Mass.) had a match-high 16 assists.
Curry College (4-11, 0-3 CCC) returns to action on Friday (10/6) for a non-conference road match against SUNY Cobleskill beginning at 7 p.m.
