Women's Volleyball Taken Down at UNE, 3-0

BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Curry College women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision (25-21, 25-16, 25-13) at the University of New England on Tuesday night in conference play.

Lexi Pereira (Attleboro, Mass.) paced the Colonels with 12 kills while Amanda Wood (Tokyo, Japan) added six kills. Alexis Bell (Salem, Conn.) pitched in with 20 assists. Shea Mathews (Concord, N.H.) recorded a team-high 11 digs.

The opening set was tied at 12-12 before UNE reeled off three straight points to seize control. Curry fought back to pull within one at 24-21 before a kill from Paige Simoneau (Hudson, N.H.) gave the Nor'easters the first set.

The University of New England won eight of the first 11 points in the second set and coasted to a 2-0 advantage. The Nor'easters then went on to lead by as many as 10 in the third set to sew up the match and improve to 9-16 overall (2-5 CCC).

Curry (7-16 overall, 1-6 CCC) returns home for its regular season home finale against Albertus Magnus College on Thursday, October 25 at 6:30 p.m.
