Volleyball Downed By Rowan and Keystone at Profs Invitational

GLASSBORO, N.J. – The Curry College women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Rowan University and a 3-1 contest to Keystone College on Saturday afternoon at the Esbjornson Gymnasium in the Profs Invitational.

The Colonels first match of the day came against host Rowan, which won by finals of 27-25, and 25-17. Lexi Pereira (Attleboro, Mass.) and Amanda Wood (Tokyo, Japan) led the way with seven kills apiece. Alexis Bell (Salem, Conn.) dished out a match-high 23 assists while Jordyn Keith (Whitman, Mass.) and Shea Mathews (Concord, N.H.) finished with 10 digs each.

Curry's second match of the day came against Keystone, which won by the first two sets of 25-21 and 25-10. The Colonels edged the Giants 25-23 in the third set before taking the final set 27-25. Wood led the way with nine kills, one ace, and two blocks while Keith contributed a team-high 16 digs.

In the opening set against Keystone, the score was tied at 6-6 before the Giants won nine of the next 12 points to take control. Keystone ran away with the second set, 25-10. The third set was close; the Colonels trailed by six early but rallied to win, 25-23. The fourth set was also close as the Giants edged Curry, 27-25.

At the conclusion of the tournament, Wood was named to the All-Tournament Team. The full All-Tournament Team is as follows:
