Curry Falls to Gordon 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-14)

Milton, Mass- The Curry Volleyball team fell in straight sets, 3-0 to Gordon College in Commonwealth Coast Conference action Wednesday night. Alyssa Keeney (Coventry, Conn. / Coventry) led the Colonels with 6 kills. Makayla Hughes (Franklin, N.H. / Franklin) dished out a team-high 11 assists while libero Courtney Carroll (Fairhaven, Mass. / Bishop Stang) added 13 digs to lead Curry in the category. 

The first set was tightly contested in the beginning as Curry was down by two (10-8) in the early going. The Fighting Scots went on a late run that allowed them to capture the first set by 11 points. The Colonels put up a good fight in the second set, only dropping the game by three points. 

Gordon was led by Carleigh Petertsen in the kill department with with seven while Renee Cooprider led all players with 29 assists. 

In the third and final set the Fighting Scots won the deciding set by an identical first set score (25-14). 

Curry continues their season long four-game homestand when they host Suffolk and Pine Manor in a tri-match beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Gordon returns to the court when they play host to Bowdoin Friday at 7 p.m.
