Women's Volleyball Tripped Up 3-0 at Salve Regina

NEWPORT, R.I.The Salve Regina University volleyball team improves to 8-7 and 2-1 against the CCC after a 3-0 sweep of Curry College.

The Seahawks controlled play from the beginning winning each set by double digits 25-14, 25-9, and 25-10 respectively.

For the Seahawks Taylor Violet (Tiverton, R.I.) led the way with 13 assists, two digs and an ace, while freshman Samantha Salwa (Ellington, Conn.) tallied 12 assists and four digs. Senior libero Dianna Tauro (Melrose, Mass.) recorded nine digs and six aces. Junior Mackenzie Donald (Point Pleasant Beach, N.J.) was the team leader in kills with nine.

The Colonels were led by Taylor Faieta (Lynn, Mass.) who totaled a kill, an assist, an ace and 10 digs. Nicole Rice (Woburn, Mass.) led Curry in kills with three. Nicole Grambley (North Attleboro, Mass.) was the assist leader with three to go along with five digs.

The Colonels now 4-12 and 0-3 in the CCC will next play Newbury on October 2. The Seahawks will next travel to face Johnson & Wales on October 1 at 7 p.m. (Recap coutesy of SRU Sports Information)
