Women's Volleyball Defeated by Visiting Anna Maria, 3-0

MILTON, Mass. – Visiting Anna Maria topped Curry College, 3-0, in non-conference women's volleyball action Tuesday night in Milton. Set scores were 25-20, 25-23, 25-15. The AMCATS improved to 5-3 overall, while the Colonels fell to 3-7.

Anna Maria maintained a steady lead through the first set, capping it off at 25-20. The second set was a back-and-forth affair as Curry eventually took a 23-22 edge, but the AMCATS recorded the final three points of the set to claim a 25-23 win. Anna Maria went on to win the third set 25-15.

Junior Jessica Goulet (Lawrence, Mass.) had a match-high nine kills, while classmate Samantha Parker (Athol, Mass.) dished out a match-best 19 assists. Sophomore Demi Carrero (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) recorded five service aces. Junior Libero Brittany Jackson (Larchmont, N.Y.) chipped in with 14 digs.

The Colonels were led by senior Christina Wallis (Peabody, Mass.) with seven kills. Sophomore Nicole Grambley (North Attleboro, Mass.) contributed with 11 assists and three service aces, while freshman Libero Courtney Carroll (Fairhaven, Mass.) had a match-high 17 digs.

Curry hosts Bay Path on Thursday in non-conference action at 7:00 p.m., while the AMCATS travel to Newton, Mass. for a tri-match beginning at 10:00 a.m. against host Mount Ida, followed by a noon match-up with Emmanuel.
