Women's Volleyball Takes Care of Bay Path, 3-1; Tripped Up by MCLA, 3-2

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – The Curry College Women's Volleyball team split a pair of non-conference matches on Saturday afternoon in North Adams, Mass. The Colonels defeated Bay Path College, 3-1 (25-20, 25-17, 22-25, 26-24), then lost to host Mass. College of Liberal Arts, 3-2 (25-19, 25-21, 18-25, 26-28, 13-15).

In the win over Bay Path, Curry was led by freshman Nicole Grambley with 16 kills, six service aces, and 24 digs. Freshman Alyssa Keeney chipped in with seven kills. Junior Hannah Robison dished out a team-high 20 assists, while freshman Lauren Gaffney contributed 22 digs. Freshman Kayla Pedersen came up big at net, notching three block solos and two block assists.

In the loss to MCLA, Keeney was the team leader in kills with 15, while Grambley finished her solid day with eight kills, two service aces, and 22 digs. Robison posted 22 assists, Gaffney had a team best 31 digs, and Pedersen picked up two block assists.

The Colonels resume play on Tuesday evening, hosting Mitchell College in a 6:00 p.m. match.
