Women's Volleyball Falls 3-0 to First-Place Roger Williams
MILTON, Mass. - Junior Holly Hancock (Tilton, N.H.) had a match high eight kills and a .727 hitting percentage, leading Roger Williams to a 3-0 victory against Curry on Tuesday night in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) match in Milton. Set scores were 25-13, 25-7 and 25-12. The Hawks advanced to 12-7 overall and 4-0 in the CCC, while the Colonels slipped to 7-8 overall and 0-5 in league play.

Curry jumped out to an early 7-3 lead in the first set, but Roger Williams bounced back quickly, earning 22 of the last 28 points.  In the middle set, the Hawks led from start to finish and cruised to a 25-7 victory.  The visitors wrapped up the match using 13 kills and a .296 hitting percentage to secure a 25-12 win in the final set and a 3-0 win in the match.

Freshman Nicole Weber (Poulsbo, Wash.) had a match-high 16 assists for Roger Williams. Senior Emily Lebowitz (Conventry, Conn.) chipped in with 11 assists, while senior Kelsee Loche (Millis, Mass.) recorded a match-high seven digs.  Sophomore Emily Werth (Cheshire, Conn.) and freshman Elizabeth Flaherty (Scarborough, Maine) headlined their team’s solid serving effort with three aces apiece.

Sophomore Hannah Robison (Cumberland, R.I.) led the host team with seven assists.  The Colonels also got a team-best five kills from freshman Brittany Lynch (Randolph, Mass.). Sophomore Courtney DiBiasio (Coventry, R.I.) paced the Colonels with five digs, while sophomore Christina Wallis (Peabody, Mass.) contributed two block assists.

Roger Williams returns to action on Thursday at 7:00 p.m., traveling to Coast Guard, while Curry resumes play on Friday at 7:00 p.m., visiting UMass Dartmouth in a non-conference tilt.
