Women's Volleyball Goes 1-1 at Eastern Nazarene Tri-Match
QUINCY, Mass. - The Eastern Nazarene College women’s volleyball team blanked Curry 3-0 in both teams’ Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opener Saturday afternoon at the Lahue Physical Education Center. The Colonels bounced back in their second match, moving to 7-2 on the season after defeating the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.), 3-1.
 
Eastern Nazarene 3, Curry 0
Eastern Nazarene fell behind early in the first match of the day against Curry. The Lions trailed 4-2 before claiming a 6-5 lead. After six ties, the home team opened up a three-point margin, 15-12, but the Colonels rallied to level the opening set at 15-15.
 
Eastern Nazarene closed out the first frame on a 10-4 run to prevail 25-19.
 
The Lions controlled the lead throughout the second set, grabbing a double-digit advantage at 19-9. Eastern Nazarene captured a 13-point victory in the set, 25-12, to claim a 2-0 edge in the match.
 
The hosts continued their momentum in the third game, seizing the lead early in the set as they sprinted out to a 9-3 advantage. The Lions would not relinquish the lead as they rolled to their first conference victory of the season.
 
Curry 3, University of Saint Joseph 1
In the second match of the day, Curry rebounded to notch a 3-1 win over the University of Saint Joseph.  The Colonels took set one 25-22 before falling 25-23 in the second frame. Curry bounced back to triumph in the final two sets, 25-15 and 26-24.
