Women's Tennis Taken Down By Endicott, 9-0

MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College women's tennis team was shut out by a final score of 9-0 by visiting Endicott College on Homecoming and Family Weekend at the newly named Trent J. Scott '96 Tennis Courts on Saturday afternoon. The win moves the Gulls to 10-0 overall and 6-0 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) while the Colonels slip to 0-9 overall and 0-5 in the CCC.

Margot Andreasen (Portland, Maine) and Justine Hoover (Wallingford, Conn.) blanked the Curry first doubles pair of Sidara Cash-Sortwell (South Portland, Maine) and Hannah Faghan (Whitman, Mass.), 8-0. Lauren Rahr (Waterford, Conn.) and Alexandra Barmore (Southington, Conn.) defeated Kelsie Merrill (Hope, Maine) and Samantha Gilbert (Bedford, Mass.) 8-0 at second doubles. Endicott closed out the doubles sweep with an 8-1 victory for Bridget Cott (Wilton, Conn.) and Jennifer Stone (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) over Rosario Robidoux (Agawam, Mass.) and Rachel Lawlor (Meriden, Conn.).

Endicott continued its strong play into singles competition, winning all six matches in straight sets and only dropping five combined games to seal the victory.

Curry will return to action on Tuesday, October 2 against Wentworth at 6:30 p.m. The match will take place at Regis College in Weston, Mass. Endicott will host Nichols in its next contest on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.
