Women's Tennis Knocked Off 9-0 by Commonwealth Coast Conference Foe Endicott College

MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College women's tennis team lost to Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Endicott College 9-0 this afternoon at the Big Nine Courts in Milton, Mass.  The loss drops the Colonels to 1-6 overall and 0-5 in the CCC.  With the win, the Gulls improve their record to 5-3 on the season and 4-1 in CCC action.

The Gulls swept the Colonels in all six single matches and three doubles.

Endicott's No. 1 singles player, Hayley Barnett (Marlboro, N.J.) won her match 6-0, 6-0 against Keeley Hardy (Charleston, S.C.).  The Gull's No. 2 singles player Lauren Rahr (Waterford, Conn.) claimed her tilt verse Kayla Prete (Orange, Conn.), 6-0, 6-0. In No. 3 singles, the Colonels Alex Moschetto (Hampton Falls, N.H.) was bested by Gillian Freter (Situate, Mass.), 6-0, 6-0. Jamie Zompa (Marlborough, Mass.) earned the No. 4 singles win for Endicott, 6-0, 6-0 by defeating Stephanie Leblanc (East Bridgewater, Mass.). The Gull's Alexi Losano (Saugus, Mass.) earned 6-0, 6-1 wins over Alexis Maclea-Perry (Plymouth, Mass.) and at the No. 6 position Alexandra Barmore (Southington, Conn.) defeated Curry's Sanjay Toure (Brockton, Mass.), 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles, the No.1 pair Maxine Bergstein (Hingham, Mass.) and Mackenzie Rhodes (Rye, N.H.) earned an 8-0 victory over the Colonels Hardy and Prete.  The No. 2 duo of Barnett and Margot Andreasen (Portland, Maine) bested Curry's Katelyn Harrington (Westport, Mass.) and Leblanc, 8-0.  In the final match on the day, No.3 Gull's doubles partners, Mackenzie Judd (Sherwood, Wisc.) and Katherine Longworth (Meriden, Conn.) outlasted Maclea-Perry and Toure, 8-1.

The Colonels return to action on Thursday, September 22 at 3:30 when they host Rhode Island College.  The Gulls return to action on Friday, September 23, when they travel to MIT for the ITA Regional Championships.
