Women's Soccer Edged By Salve Regina

MILTON, Mass. – Salve Regina University netted the match's only goal in the second half en route to a 1-0 victory over Curry College on Wednesday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's soccer action at Walter M. Katz Field.

Junior Carah Cote (Adams, Mass.) scored in the 78th minute to supply the lone goal for the Seahawks, who improved to 8-9-0 overall (3-3-0 CCC). Freshman Jenna Park (Barrington, R.I.) did her part in goal by making six saves in goal to preserve the shutout.

Salve Regina jumped in front in the latter stages of the second half after junior Devyn DeFalco (Brockton, Mass.) crossed a ball in front of the Colonels' goal and into the box. The pass connected with Cote and she finished it past Curry freshman goalkeeper Lilia Leonard (Quincy, Mass.) for her sixth tally of the season and the 1-0 Seahawk lead.

Leonard finished with five saves against 14 shots to lead the Colonels.

Curry (6-11-0 overall, 1-5-0 CCC) travels to Wentworth on Saturday, October 26 at 3:00 p.m. Salve Regina returns to action at Gordon on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
