WORCESTER, Mass. – The Curry College women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 setback at Clark University on Thursday night in non-conference action at Granger Field.

The Cougars (6-5-1 overall) were fueled by a three-point performance from senior Maya Mashkuri (Montpelier, Vt.) with a goal and an assist. Junior Inonge Kaloustian (Prince George's County, Md.) and freshman Lila McNamee (Cheshire, Conn.) tallied the final two goals for Clark in the contest.

Clark sophomore goalkeeper Morgan Small (Quakertown, Pa.) picked up the shutout victory with 11 saves. Curry's freshman keeper Oliver Hutchinson (Scituate, Mass.) notched six stops in the loss.

Just over 26 minutes into the match, the Cougars got on the board as junior Sarah Berube (Wilmington, Mass.) crossed a ball right in front of the Colonels' goal to find Mashkuri. After collecting the pass, Mashkuri connected on a shot while the ball was in the air to put a shot past Hutchinson. Clark tacked on another with only 28 seconds to go before the end of the half. Kaloustian was able to take an opportunity herself, force Hutchinson out of the goal, and deposit one in the back of the net, to give the Cougars a 2-0 lead at the intermission.

Clark added its final tally in the 66th minute as Berube and Mashkuri were able to set up McNamee. McNamee got behind the Curry defense and placed a shot on a vitually empty net for the 3-0 final.

The Cougars held a 22-14 edge in shots and also had a 6-2 lead in corners.

Curry (6-7 overall) will next host UMass Boston on Saturday, October 12 at noon in their non-conference finale. Clark returns to action on Tuesday, October 15 at Mount Holyoke College for a league contest at 1:00 p.m.
