Women's Soccer Makes Lone Goal Stand Against UMass Dartmouth

MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College women's soccer team held on for a 1-0 victory over UMass Dartmouth on Monday evening in a non-conference match-up at Walter M. Katz Field.

The Colonels scored the lone goal in the 57th minute when freshman and reigning Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Rookie of the Week Madison Conway (West Springfield, Mass.) fired a shot from outside the box and over the top of the Corsairs' junior goalkeeper Jaimee O'Brien (West Springfield, Mass.) for her third tally of the season. The assist on the marker was credited to sophomore Maddie Wilson (Millbury, Mass.). Freshman goalkeeper Oliver Hutchinson (Scituate, Mass.) made the margin stand to record the clean sheet. Curry (6-5-0 overall) has now won four of the five matches.

The Colonels held a 22-18 edge in shots while also having a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks.

Hutchinson finished with 11 saves while O'Brien recorded eight stops for the UMass Dartmouth.

Curry will next host Endicott College on Saturday, October 5 at 6:00 p.m. on Homecoming and Family Weekend. UMass Dartmouth (1-7-0 overall) returns home to host league opponent UMass Boston on Wednesday, October 2 at 7:00 p.m.
