MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College women's soccer team dropped a non-conference match to Wellesley College by a 4-2 final on Saturday afternoon at Walter M. Katz Field.

Sophomore Liz Zhou (McLean, Va.) scored a pair of goals back-to-back just five minutes apart to lead the Blue (2-1-0 overall). Wellesley controlled the pace of play and outshot the Colonels 25-11 while the corners were even with six apiece.

Junior Tayla Randall (Walpole, Mass.) tallied her fifth goal of the season while freshman McKenna Reid (Irvine, Calif.) netted her first career goal to lead the Colonels (1-3-0 overall). Freshman Oliver Hutchinson (Scituate, Mass.) made seven stops in goal.

Senior Kendall You Mak (San Francisco, Calif.) put Wellesley in front in the 36th minute when she one-timed a pass from 32 yards out and put it in top-shelf over Hutchinson. Freshman Eliza Roy (Camden, Maine) tallied her second of the season in the 69th minute, capitalizing off a misplay in the box to beat Hutchinson left to put the shot in the back of the net for the 2-0 lead.

Zhou pitched in her first of two on the day in the 72nd minute when she connected on a shot from about 17 yards out to beat Hutchinson high to give the Blue a 3-0 lead. Wellesley added its last tally just over five minutes later when freshman Gabriella Nicolosi (New York, N.Y.) served a corner kick into the box and Zhou put a shot in the back of the net.

Curry got one back in the 82nd minute when Randall scored off a misplay by the goalie to score on the doorstep. That tally was Randall's fifth goal of the week. The Colonels cut the deficit in half in the 87th minute as Reid deposited in a shot from about 30 yards out to make it a 4-2 final.

Wellesley's senior goalkeeper Olivia Reckley (Grosse Ile, Mich.) played all but the final 13:53 in goal for the Blue and converted five saves. Freshman Kendall Lincoln (San Diego, Calif.) played the final 13:53 in goal for the Blue, failing to convert a save.

Curry will next travel to Regis College (Mass.) on Wednesday, September 11 at 7:30 p.m. Wellesley returns to action at home on Tuesday, September 10 against Endicott at 4:00 p.m.
