Women's Soccer Fights Hard in Double Overtime Loss at Endicott, 2-1

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott College scored in the 101st minute to post a 3-2 victory over Curry College on Saturday afternoon in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's soccer match at Hempstead Stadium.

Jillian Presser (Trumbull, Conn.) netted the golden goal in the second overtime frame to give the Gulls their ninth win of the season. Hannah Pesci (Windham, N.H.) also found the back of the net on the day for Endicott (9-4-4 overall, 6-1-1 CCC).

Tayla Randall (Walpole, Mass.) recorded the lone goal for the Colonels, who dropped to 8-9-1 overall and 1-5-1 in league play.

Endicott notched the first goal at the 21:59 mark as Pesci scored her fourth goal of the season.

Curry answered back in the 30th minute as Randall fired a shot from 30 yards out and past the Gulls' keeper Kayla Wentworth (Taunton, Mass.) to tie the game at one for her team-leading seventh goal of the season.

Endicott produced the game-winning score in the second overtime period. Presser collected a long cross from Pesci and found the top corner of the goal to give the Gulls the victory.

Endicott held a 52-14 advantage in shots. Wentworth finished with two saves to record the victory. Maggie Chamberlain (Taunton, Mass.) made a season-high 13 saves in the loss.

Curry will next play at home against Gordon on Tuesday, October 23 at 4:00 p.m. in their regular season finale. Endicott returns to action at home against Keene State on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m.
