Women's Soccer Captures First CCC Victory at Nichols, 2-0

DUDLEY, Mass. – The Curry College women's soccer team notched its first Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) victory, defeating Nichols College by a 2-0 final on Tuesday afternoon at Vendetti Field.

The Colonels scored both goals in the first half to seize control. Felicity Monfils (North Attleboro, Mass.) netted the first goal in the fourth minute off an assist from Courtney Cushing (Gorham, Maine). Samantha Borges (Somerset, Mass.) added an insurance marker in the 22nd with the assist going to Isabella Shields (Lakeville, Mass.). Goalkeeper Maggie Chamberlain (Taunton, Mass.) finished with eight saves to complete her second clean sheet of the season.

Nichols held a 17-15 edge in shots for the contest while Curry had a 4-3 advantage in corners. Tayla Randall (Walpole, Mass.) paced the Colonels with four shots.

Brooke Downey (Middleboro, Mass.) made five saves in goal in the loss for the Bison.

Curry (8-6-1 overall, 1-2-1 CCC) will next head to Western New England University on Saturday, October 13 at 11:00 a.m. Nichols (3-9-1 overall, 0-5-0 CCC) travels to the University of New England on Saturday for a contest at 1:00 p.m.
