Women's Soccer Falters at Framingham State, 2-0

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Framingham State University scored a pair of second-half goals en route to a 2-0 victory over Curry College on Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference women's soccer showdown at Maple Street Field.

Caitlyn Our (Barnstable, Mass.) scored both goals for the Rams, who improved to 2-8-0 overall and notched their second win in a row.

The teams were pretty even in the shot category in the first half as Curry finished with a slight edge, 9-8. The Colonels also had a 2-1 edge in corners at the intermission in a scoreless contest.

Framingham State broke through in the 68th minute on the goal from Our and then tacked on the insurance in the 78th minute on another goal from Our, this time off an assist from Casey Good (Dartmouth, Mass.). The Rams outshot Curry 16-3 in the second half and held a 3-0 advantage in corner kicks.

The Rams held a 24-12 advantage in total shots. Framingham State goalkeeper Madison Brown (Attleboro, Mass.) made nine saves to record her first shutout of the season. Maggie Chamberlain (Taunton, Mass.) finished with nine stops between the pipes for the Colonels in the loss.

Curry (7-5-1 overall, 0-2-1 CCC) will next play at UMass Boston on Thursday, October 4 at 7:00 p.m. Framingham State returns to action at home against MCLA on Saturday at 11 a.m.
