Women's Soccer Stumbles Against UNE, 4-0

MILTON, Mass. – The University of New England posted a 4-0 victory at Curry College on Saturday afternoon in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's soccer clash at Walter M. Katz Field on Homecoming and Family Weekend.

Katie Beaudoin (Coventry, R.I.) and Kat Buscemi (Jefferson, Md.) each found the back of the net for the Nor'easters, who improved to 4-4-1 overall (2-1-0 CCC) and picked up their second conference win of the season. Jenna Pannone (Prospect, Conn.) made five saves in goal.

UNE struck for the first goal in the 48th minute when Beaudoin set up Buscemi for a cross, which was headed in. Just over a minute later, Beaudoin tallied a goal as she connected on a shot off a corner kick to push the score to 2-0. Beaudoin added another tally with a strike in the 57th minute from a pass down the middle of the field from Avery Bond (Jefferson, Maine.).

The Nor'easters netted its final marker of the contest as they Jessie Maywalt (Wall, N.J.) off an assist from Beaudoin in the 67th minute for a 4-0 advantage.

Curry held an 18-17 edge in total shots on the day. Maggie Chamberlain (Taunton, Mass.) recorded nine saves for the Colonels.

Curry (7-4-1 overall, 0-2-1 CCC) will next play at Framingham State on Wednesday, October 3 at 4:30 p.m. UNE returns to action at Colby on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
