Gordon and Curry Pull Upsets to Advance to CCC Women’s Soccer Semifinals

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Gordon and Curry both pulled off upsets in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Women's Soccer Championship Tournament to advance to the semifinal round on Tuesday, Nov. 1.

Gordon, the eighth seed this year, was able to take down Roger Williams, the two-time reigning CCC Champion, with two goals in the final five minutes of the match to earn the 2-1 result. Fifth seed Curry's upset was a come-from-behind victory as well as the Colonels scored two second-half goals to move past fourth seeded University of New England, 2-1. The Fighting Scots and Colonels will now meet in a semifinal matchup with Curry playing host at 6:30 p.m.

In the other half of the bracket, No. 2 seed Wentworth and No. 3 seed Endicott both earned 3-0 wins against No. 7 Western New England and No. 6 Salve Regina, respectively. The Leopards will host the Gulls in the other semifinal on Tuesday with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m.

The two semifinal winners earn a trip to the CCC Women's Soccer Championship match which takes place on Saturday, Nov. 5. The CCC Tournament Champion will receive the conference's automatic qualifier into the NCAA DIII Women's Soccer Championship.
