Women's Soccer Blanks Eastern Nazarene, 4-0

QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's soccer team suffered a 4-0 loss in the final match of the 2016 campaign Tuesday night at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The Lions conclude the fall with a 3-14-1 overall record and an 0-9-0 mark in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The Colonels improve to 10-7-2 on the year and 3-4-2 in league action with the result.

The visitors grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute as Kelly Parker (Branford, Conn.) launched a left-footed shot into the back of the net for her sixth tally of the season.

Curry tacked on its second goal of the match in the 18th minute. Briana Fitzsimmons (East Haven, Conn.) booted home her fifth marker of the fall after Parker's attempt was saved.

Eastern Nazarene managed seven shots in the opening stanza and the Colonels generated 14 attempts.

The guests widened the gap to 3-0 in the 79th minute. Fitzsimmons notched her sixth tally of the year and second of the game as she buried a shot from inside the box.

Curry capped off the scoring in the 87th minute as Amanda Crisfulla (Raynham, Mass.) collected her fourth goal of the season.

The Lions fired 14 shots on the night while the Colonels recorded 29 attempts in the contest.

Kelly Couite (West Bridgewater, Mass.) led Eastern Nazarene with five shots in the game while Katherine Lawrence (Marlborough, Conn.) chipped in with three shots.

Rookie Griselda Minchaca (Whittier, Calif.) finished with 11 saves between the sticks for the home side.

Curry enters the CCC Tournament as the fifth seed and will travel to play the University of New England Saturday in a noon quarterfinal matchup.
