Women's Soccer Battles Visiting Non-Conference Opponent Clark University to a 0-0 Double Overtime Tie

MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College Women's Soccer team battled visiting Clark University to a 0-0 double overtime tie on Tuesday evening at the Walter M. Katz Field. The tie moves the Colonels to 3-2-1 overall while the Cougars move to 4-0-1 on the season.

Curry and Clark played a scoreless 90 minutes of regulation.  The Cougars led with nine shots landing six on net.  The Colonels had eight shots with four on net.  Senior Morgan Stott (Dartmouth, Mass.) earned the six stops for Curry while freshman Julianna Christy (Plainville, Conn) came up with four saves.  The Colonels held a slight advantage on corner kicks, 5-4. 

The teams played an extra 20 minutes of two 10 minute overtimes with neither team able to tally the winning score.  The squads were even at four shots apiece.  The Cougars Christy was strong between the pipes turning all four shots away.  Stott made two nice saves to keep Clark scoreless.  Curry's senior Kelly Parker (Branford, Conn.) led all players with four total shots with three on goal. 

Stott faced 13 shots, stopping eight for the Colonels in net.  Christy faced 12 shots, coming up with eight saves for the Cougars.

Curry finished with a high seven corner kicks and Clark five corners.

The Colonels return to the pitch on Thursday, September 15 when they travel to Emmanuel College for a 7:00 p.m. game. The Cougars return to action Saturday, September 17 when they travel to Smith College for a NEWMAC contest. Kick-off is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
