Lima Participates in Rhode Island Reds Amateur Women's Soccer Game

MILTON, Mass. - Curry sophomore midfielder/forward Kaitlin Lima (New Bedford, Mass.) appeared in her first amateur women's soccer league game for the Rhode Island Reds on Sunday, May 10.

The Reds, who play in the WPSL league, lost 4-2 to Breakers College in a game played at Brown University.

"It's such a great accomplishment for Kaitlyn to not only make the Reds roster, but to play quality minutes in her first game", says Curry Head Coach Jason Tassinari.  "No one has more passion for the game of soccer than Kaitlyn, and I know she will take advantage of every moment.  It's great for her and our program that she's playing at such a high level during the off season. She's well deserving and I'm very proud of her."

Lima, who has played in 34 games at Curry in her first two seasons, has tallied a total 22 goals and 8 assists.

"You can only improve as a player when you play with and play against great talent," says Coach Tassinari. "I certainly expect to see much improved and more confident Kaitlyn Lima in the fall because of her experiences with the Reds this summer."
