Women’s Soccer Holds 2014 Banquet

MILTON, Mass. - The 2014 Women's Soccer Banquet was held on Sunday, December 7 at Curry's Alumni Recreation Center. In addition to brunch, the banquet included a slide show of pictures from the 2014 season, as well as team awards, and senior/captain tribute speeches.

Coach Jason Tassinari and his coaching staff hosted the event that was attended by over 100 guests that included the players and family members.  Coach Taz honored and recognized the program's 5 seniors (Danielle Kent, Deanna McMahon, Meredith Keith, Mary Blythe, and Stefanie Faucher).  In addition to receiving their framed home uniform and locker tag, each senior had 1 member of the team give a brief tribute speech about them.  Those speakers included Cassie Grasso (spoke about Danielle), Abby Ford (spoke about Meredith), Lizzy Barbarisi (spoke about Stefanie), Kelsey O'Brien (spoke about Mary), and Christina Chiofalo (spoke about Deanna).  The Team Award winners were Kelsey O'Brien (most improved), Stefanie Faucher (MVP), Abby Ford (Rookie of the Year), Danielle Kent/Christina Chiofalo (Coach's Award), and Karyn Colomey (Unsung Hero).  Curry's 2 all conference players were also recognized (Kailtyn Lima and Abby Ford), as well as the 2014 team captains (Stefanie Faucher, Danielle Kent, Deanna McMahon, and junior Taylor Evans).

"The banquet is the definitive ending and exclamation point on the 2014 season", says Curry Head Coach Jason Tassinari.  "It's a great way for me to thank everyone in the program for their support, trust, and contributions.  The 2014 team was a special group of young women that achieved a lot of success on and off the field.  I'm so happy to give them the recognition they deserve."

The 2014 team concluded the season with an overall record of 11-6-2.  The 2015 season opens on Tuesday, September 1 with a non-league home game against Johnson State.
