MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College women's soccer team defeated Becker College, 7-0, on Wednesday night at the Walter M. Katz Field. With the win the Colonels improve to 10-3 overall while the Hawks fell to 5-5-1 on the season.

Curry had six different goal scorers throughout the game.  The Colonels were led by sophomore Kaitlyn Lima (New Bedford, Mass.) who finished with five points on two tallies and a helper.  Junior Taylor Evans (Middleton, Mass.) earned three points netting two and chipping in with an assist.  Curry also got scores from senior Deanna McMahon (Hanover, Mass.), sophomore Kelly Parker (Branford, Conn.) and freshmen Korinna Tsonis (N. Dartmouth, Mass.) and Demitria Ulino (Port Jefferson, N.Y.).  Ulino's was her first collegiate goal.  Senior Danielle Kent (Pocasset, Mass.) and juniors Kelsey O'Brien (Danvers, Mass.) and Elizabeth Barbarisi (Ipswich, Mass.) each were credited with an assist.

The Colonels put up three in the first half with Evans getting her team on the board at the 20:25 minute mark off a feed from Lima.  Barbarisi was awarded a free kick after a Becker foul that resulted in Curry's second tally from Tsonis.  The Colonels held on to a 2-0 advantage until McMahon received a pass from O'Brien from the corner of the field with one second showing on the clock.  Curry's lead was extended to three heading into the break.

The Colonels outshot the Hawks 15-5 in the frame and had an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks. Becker's senior goaltender Kaitlyn Rose (North Attleboro, Mass.) made four saves allowing all three goals in 38:33 minutes of play before giving way to freshman Rebecca Carkhuff (Amherst, Mass.) who finished out the game in net.  Sophomore netminder Morgan Stott (Dartmouth, Mass.) stopped four of the Hawks five shots for Curry.

It took just 1:03 into the final frame for the Colonels to find the back of the net for their fourth on the night.  Parker collected a loose ball in the 18-yard box and stuck it past Carkhuff unassisted.  Lima went on to score back-to-back goals off assists by Kent and Evans.  The score remained 6-0 over the final 25 minutes but another late tally just before the horn went off by Ulino earned Curry the 7-0 shutout and their tenth victory on the year.

The Colonels finished with 28 shots and nine corner kicks.  The Hawks finished with nine shots and one corner kick.

Stott made seven saves in net for the win and earned her seventh shutout on the season.  Carkhuff had nine stops in net in 51:27 minutes of play taking the loss.
