Women's Soccer Edged 1-0 in Overtime at CCC Rival Endicott College

BEVERLY, Mass. – After playing to a scoreless stalemate through the first 90 minutes, Endicott needed four and a half minutes of overtime to cash in and secure a 1-0 defeat of Curry on Saturday evening in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's soccer action at Endicott Stadium.

Senior Christine Silva (Stoneham, Mass.) fired home the game-winner, her first goal of the season and the only shot in the overtime period.

The Blue and Green improve their overall record to 7-4-1, with a 3-1-1 mark in the conference, while Curry dips below .500 (5-6-1) and sees their CCC mark drop to 1-4.

The Gulls took 17 shots in the game and had nine opportunities from the corner flags, but were continually denied opportunities to get on the board.

Endicott was challenged by the Colonels throughout regulation, but never allowed a true shot in the game to their visitors. Gulls sophomore Katie Donnelly (Madison, Conn.) was not forced into any saves but did well stabbing the ball out of the air on a Curry corner kick.

Senior Lexi Dussi (Milford, Mass.) had a great opportunity halfway through the second half, but she hit the post on a shot from close range.

The Gulls nearly put in the game-winner on the final kick of the ball, but freshman Rebecca Gustine (East Hampton, Conn.). Her classmate, LeeAnn card (Paxton, Mass.) also had several opportunities throughout the game, putting three shots on frame.

Curry senior goalie Samantha Hardy (Pepperell, Mass.) was busy, making six saves and keeping the game scoreless.

Endicott continues to dominate the all-time series against Curry, now winning their last five meetings and pushing their overall record against the Colonels to 14-2.

Endicott will next play a non-conference test on Tuesday night when they travel to Medford to face Tufts. The Jumbos and Gulls will kick off at 4:00 pm.

Curry will also leave the CCC to play two out of conference matches, starting on Monday when they travel to Boston to play Emmanuel (4:30 pm). (Game Recap Courtesy of Endicott Sports Information)
