SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Curry College junior Abby Dubel (Wolfeboro, N.H.) and freshman Andria Torres (Milford, Conn.) have been recognized as the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, for the sport of women's lacrosse.

Dubel earns Defensive Player of the Week honors after she helped lead Curry to a 2-1 week with wins against Salve Regina and Rhode Island College before losing to Gordon. Throughout the three games, Dubel caused 12 turnovers, scooped up 20 ground balls, and had 24 draw controls. She also managed to add five goals on offense.

Torres picks up her first Rookie of the Week award as she put up an impressive scoring display. In a 20-17 victory over Salve Regina, the freshman scored six goals. She added another in a loss to Gordon. She also collected five ground balls during the contests.

Dubel, Torres, and Curry (7-6 overall, 2-3 CCC) travel to nearby Emerson College for their non-conference finale tonight, April 8 for a 6:00 p.m. contest.
