MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College women's lacrosse team defeated Thomas College, 21-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Walter M. Katz Field.  With the win the Colonels move to 2-2 overall.  The Terriers fall to 0-2 on the season.

The Colonels got scores from 13 different players.  Curry was led by freshman Katie Parker (Branford, Conn.) who finished with six points on five goals and one assist.  Her six-point effort was a career-high.  Parker was followed by sophomores Leona Stevens (Kingston, Mass.) who had five points on four tallies and a helper and Courtney Lima (New Bedford, Mass.) who had a hat-trick and an assist for four points and won two draws.

Sophomore Abby Dubel (Wolfeboro, N.H.) led all players with 10 draw controls and seven caused turnovers. She also netted a goal and dished in a helper for two points. Sophomore Abigail Roy (Nashua, N.H.) was also solid in the midfield as she grabbed six draw controls and also earned an assist.

Two Colonel players had three points on the day as both junior Jessica Giametti (Branford, Conn.) and freshman Katie Tarr (Atkinson, N.H) had a goal and an assist.  Sophomore Kayla Merritt (Attleboro, Mass.) had a two-point effort while also coming up with two draw wins.

Curry had five other scorers as senior Bianca Simeone (Cranston, R.I.) and freshmen Lily Ashford (Atkinson, N.H), Allie Wysocki (South Hadley, Mass.), Taylor Gallagher (Rockland, Mass.) and Colleen Donnelly (Atkinson, N.H.) all netted a goal.

For Thomas, senior Amira Jones (Chicopee, Mass.) scored her team's only goal of the night. 

The Colonels outshot the Terriers, 36-4, won 21 of 24 total draw controls and scooped up 22 ground balls while the visitors picked up 10.  Curry converted on all of their free-position attempts as they went 4-4 and were perfect on their clears with 9-9.

The Colonels freshman goalkeeper Amy Collard (Lakeville, Mass.) earned the win in net making one save as she allowed just one score.  The Terriers sophomore goalkeeper Sydni Collier (Oakland, Maine) recorded eight stops in the loss.

Curry is next in action on Tuesday, March 27 as they travel to Western New England in their first Commonwealth Coast Conference game of the season at 4:00 p.m.
