The Knights opened the scoring with two straight goals with Courtney Condron (Franklin Square, N.Y.) and Gilligan tallying inside the first three minutes of play, before the Colonels rallied with the next three goals to pull in front 3-2 with 15:44 left in the opening frame.

Mount Saint Mary outshot Curry 15-13 prior to the break, but the Colonels scored three goals with the man advantage prior to halftime. The Knights took a 15-12 edge in groundballs into the intermission, while Curry won six of the nine draw controls contested.

The two sides alternated goals over the first 18-and-a-half minutes of the second stanza, but a three goal run from the Knights in under three minutes gave them a 9-6 advantage with just under nine minutes left in regulation. Christina Ryan (Franklin Square, N.Y.) started the run with her first goal of the game and Providence Gilkey (Shirley, N.Y.) and Chelsea Henke (Pawling, N.Y.) each followed with their first goals of the season.
