Simeone Named as 2018 Captain of the Women's Lacrosse Team

MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College Women's Lacrosse Team has announced its team captain for the 2017-2018 season. Senior defender Bianca Simeone (Cranston, R.I.) was chosen by her teammates and coaches to lead the 2018 Colonels during the upcoming season.

On the field, Simeone is described as a player who has a great work ethic, love for the sport, passion for playing on this team and is a supportive teammate. "Bianca is a natural leader," said Curry Women's Lacrosse Head Coach Coach Roberts.  "Being a captain on our Women's Lacrosse Team is not just wearing the letter C on your sleeve. You need to display certain characteristics to be a true leader. I feel Bianca has the skills and qualities needed to help captain this team to success on the field, in the classroom and in the community."
Off the field, Bianca is a Dean's List student majoring in Psychology and minoring in Sociology.   Over the past three years she has volunteered her time at local events and participated in a number of community services.  Bianca is the athletic department's "Campus Team IMPACT Ambassador", Women's Lacrosse Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative and also the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) SAAC Secretary.

Bianca's teammates have a lot of respect for her and are comfortable knowing they can go to her whenever they need to. "I think Bianca is the type of leader that wants everyone's input on every decision she will be making," junior Angela Johns (Burrillville, R.I.) said of her teammate.   She is all about making the best decisions for the entirety of the team."

"I feel a captain is someone that stands out and supports the team on and off the field," said Simeone. "This is one of my biggest accomplishments here at Curry."
