Former Curry Standout Koffman Named as Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Wentworth

BOSTON, Mass. – Former Curry College standout Jessie Koffman has been named Head Women's Lacrosse Coach at Wentworth Institute of Technology, effective immediately. Koffman becomes the second former Curry student-athlete in the last year to be hired as a head coach at Wentworth. In October 2013, former Colonels' standout Caitlin Luquet was named as the Leopards' head softball coach.

"I am so happy for and proud of Jessie. She has worked so hard to get to where she is now," said Curry Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Caitlin Roberts. "Her dream has been to be a head collegiate coach and with her hard work and dedication, her dream has come true. There is no better feeling for me to see a former player on the opposite sideline coaching the sport we both love.  Her passion for the sport of lacrosse and her enthusiasm for bringing out the best in student-athletes on and off the field will contribute to her success at Wentworth."

A native and current resident of Andover, Mass., Koffman began her collegiate playing career at Whittier College where she scored 20 points on 18 goals and two assists during the 2007 season for the Poets.

After spending the 2008 and 2009 seasons as an Assistant Varsity Coach and the Head Junior Varsity Girls Lacrosse Coach at Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, Mass., she played two seasons at Curry College where she scored 189 points (121 goals, 68 assists) in 39 games for the Colonels. In her junior season (2011) she scored 79 goals and assisted on 50 others for 129 points, helping Curry to a 16-5 record and a berth in the championship game of the ECAC Division III New England Tournament. That season she ranked fourth in Division III in total points, fifth in points per game (6.14), eighth in goals, and 10th in assists.

During the 2010 season she was named Honorable Mention All-Commonwealth Coast Conference and was a First Team All-CCC selection in 2011. A captain during the 2011 season, she earned her Bachelor's degree in English in 2012.

During three seasons (2012-2014) coaching at Dedham High School, Koffman helped the squad to 17 wins, including qualifying for the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Tournament for the first time in program history during the 2013 season.
